As a designer, you shouldn’t only think about the design, but also take care of the size of your design. I mean to say that, uses of huge images or massive graphics can make your website load slowly, resulting in increasing website bounce rate. In this article, I’m going to tell some tips and tricks about designing your webpage or website. Your website look is everything for your website means the designing part of your website takes almost 60% of your whole website. People don’t care whatever is going on the back end, all they want to see is fast, reliable and cool website design.

Web Designing Tools:

For an impressive web design, various impressive designing tools are needed. So, you can get started with Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw or similar type of software to draw a basic design. Don’t forget about the category of the website. Using dark and catchy colours for simple website and dull and low contrast colours for gaming website isn’t a cool idea, you know what I mean now. Simply draw it, watch and ask yourself, either it’s good looking or not.

Surf Websites:

To show some smartness, you should surf other good looking websites of same category this helps you to design your own website in a better way. You’ll get lots of references about the design and colours. The main problem is a colour combination while designing. Otherwise, there are only 5-6 types of website layouts. Three columns, two columns, Facebook type etc.. Find popular websites and you’ll get an idea from that.

 Logo:

The most important thing of a website is its logo. Your website will be known from your logo. Making a logo isn’t hard, as you can see top companies like Apple, Facebook got a very simple type of logo. Your logo should match your website designing (of course). If you aren’t good at making logo, then you can contact someone to do it for you, there are lots of graphic designers who can do it for free, they just want to make their portfolio.

Keep In Mind:

There are several things to keep in mind while creating a web design. These are:

• Do not use flash [Flash don’t let the search engines to crawl your website, result in poor SEO]
• Do not use iframes [Web Crawlers also don’t crawl websites, that are using iframes, so take care of it]
• Do not make it messy [Trying to make the website as clean as possible, people don’t like loads of advertisements or something like that all over the webpage]
• Make a simple and easy to use navigation menu. Users shouldn’t get confused with your navigation system, so take care of it also.

Colours:

Making lots of colours for different texts and links is also a bad idea. There should be only 3-4 colours for a professional web designing, i.e:

1. Primary colour
2. Secondary colour
3. Colour for highlighting the test

Don’t Try To Be Funny/Stupid:

Some web designers put a lot of sound effects on the navigation menu, the number of transitions of flash after each web page and every time user scrolls over the link. That’s the very stupid idea and will annoy all the users. So don’t try to do something unique that sucks in future. Your content matters, but the design of a website is like its soul.
