Now-a-days social media increases its popularity, the social media indicators will become more important during search engine optimization (SEO). In this article we will explain the  social implications on SEO in 2014.

Does google still use social signals to calculate the ranking? Are social media sites good for SEO? We will answer these questions and look at why social media is an important marketing strategy.

Recently Matt Cutts from Google  stated that, social indicators are not used in the Google algorithms. So why bother using social media like Facebook  or Twitter during your marketing campaign?

Social signals do not directly benefit your website ranking, however, it has been noticed that there is a direct and positive correlation between SEO and a strong social media presence.

Social indicators and SEO indirectly benefit each other. Here are some of the noticeable benefits.

  • Good PR often results  in happier customers and happy customers are more likely to add credibility to your services by adding reviews on Google etc.
  • Customers finding your social media are more likely to become responsive and visit your site.  Because they are pre-warmed up, this directly reduces your websites bounce rate.
  • Social media can send huge numbers of targeted customers to your site.

Even though social signals have no direct benefit to your SEO campaign and your website ranking, they offer huge and substantial indirect benefits and like in 2013 still should be used.

Other Social Implications In 2014

Social paths will continue to help brands to establish credibility. Social proofs such as testimonials and number of Facebook likes/ recommends will continue to help your brand development.

500 Plus likes on Facebook shows credibility. If 500+ hundred people all told you that  product x was amazing you would take a second and listen. Social media will most definitely continue to grow and by using social indicators wisely increase your brand visibility.
